MAKING YOUR FIRST DRINK
Get excited to make your first espresso! Once you’ve filled the tank with water and put in your choice of beans, you’re ready to go.
QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
Once you're all set up, turn on the machine.
STEP 2
Place a cup on the drip tray underneath the dispenser.
STEP 3
Insert the milk tube into your milk carton or container (for milky drinks only).
STEP 4
Select your chosen drink. Enjoy!

TIPS FOR YOUR ESPRESSO MACHINE
MAKE 4-5 TEST CUPS
When you first use your machine, prime it by making 4 or 5 drinks.
USE A REGULAR MILK CARTON
Any glass or container works. Just pop the milk tube in the top.
BUY RECENTLY ROASTED, UNTREATED COFFEE
This is best for taste and for the bean hopper.
ADJUST GRIND FINENESS
You can choose finer for light roasts and coarser for dark roasts.
YOU CAN SUIT YOUR TASTE
Customize the strength, temperature, order of milk or coffee, body, and volume of coffee and milk in the drink settings.
HOW TO CLEAN AND CARE FOR YOUR MACHINE
To keep your espresso machine working at its best, you’ll get into a routine of care. Don’t worry, as you’ll be prompted to clean it by the indicator light when needed.
RINSE THE DRIP TRAY
Empty and rinse out the drip tray with soap and water (not in the dishwasher).
CLEAN THE FROTHER
‘Easy milk rinsing’ keeps the milk frother clean
(instructions are on the display).
CLEAR OUT BEANS
‘Easy milk rinsing’ keeps the milk frother clean

WIPE THE EXTERIOR
Clean the exterior by wiping over with a damp cloth, or products for stainless steel.
DESCALE THE MACHINE
‘Descale’ the machine when prompted by the blinking descale light.
CLEAN MILK SYSTEM
‘Deep milk clean’ will fully clean the system monthly (instructions on the display).
CHANGE THE FILTER
The water filter can be replaced after each 50 L of water - about 4 times a year.
WATCH, BREW, SIP
1 OR 2 CUPS
If you’d like 2 espressos at once, select the “2x” option and place 2 cups under the dispenser (note: for milk-based options, make 1 only).
AUTOMATIC MILK DRINKS
Simply place the milk hose into a separate milk container of your choice* and create personalized milk drinks with the touch of a button. Note: Do not use plant-based alternatives.
*Use any milk carton or container when creating milky drinks. The KitchenAid Milk Container can be purchased as an optional accessory if desired.
BEANS OR PRE-GROUND COFFEE
As well as grinding your own whole bean coffee (in the bean hopper), you have the option to add pre-ground directly into the coffee grounds shaft.
