I chose this kettle specifically, and bought in online direct from KitchenAid Canada back in late March 2021, as I wanted one that was totally stainless steel on the inside. There are no plastic parts on the inside of this one. I've been extremely satisfied and have been using it daily for the past 5 months - it boils water quickly and is easy to keep clean. I love the colour (Empire Red) as well.

For a couple of months we heard a clicking sound coming from the kettle while not in use. Same sound the automatic shut off makes when the water is boiling. We also noticed the water boiling for longer then normal prior to it shutting itself off. This morning for the first time the automatic shut off did not work. Hoping this is a simple fix by replacing a part on my own, hoping Kitchaid can assist me with a diagnosis and part number, as at first the kettle worked better then your average kettle plus it looks like a show stopper sitting on the counter!!

Large capacity and hold heat a bit longer than just plastic versions of similar kettles. And cheaper than a SMEG.
