Impossible to repair after only 14 monthsBought this fridge just over a year ago. Recently the interior lights have started to fail, first the freezer and back of fridge, then the side fridge ones. Call/chat to KitchenAid said they have no repair people in my area (hard to believe because it's Victoria, a provincial capital) and that I should find some one local to try to fix the problem. Calls to local repair people say they won't/can't repair KitchenAid and that I should contact the manufacturer. So I'm stuck with a dark fridge that seemingly no one can repair. I would never buy another KitchenAid product based on this experience. If I could have given no stars in this review I would have done so.

Hopeful with our new Kitchen Aid RefrigeratorThis fridge is a recent purchase to replace a similar Electrolux fridge that suffered a recurrent ice-maker design defect that eventually led to its demise after 8 short years. We are hopeful that Kitchen-Aid has a better water/dispenser ice-maker design, as that is a very useful feature. Oddly, the 8 year old Electrolux had a better quality interior and freezer build (sturdier plastic drawers and shelving) and was more spacious, despite identical exterior dimensions. Go figure! The humidity control in the Kitchen Aid seems to be a bit off as there is noticeable condensation on many items. The ice-maker seems to be a simpler design and we remain hopeful that it remains reliable.

Horrible Fridge - DO NOT BUYDo not buy this fridge! If you look through the reviews the only time this fridge got rated above 1 Star was when it was an Incentive Review. Save yourself the headaches and the money stay away from this fridge.
This fridge came with our the purchase of our new home - within 1 Year it has broken 3 times with the same issue. (the fan freezes and is unable to blow the cold air into the fridge space to cool our food) Kitchen Aid won't replace the defective product, their repairs obviously don't work and we have lost tons of money replacing spoiled food. In our new house we have spent more time using a cooler with ice packs to keep our food than using our Kitchen Aid fridge.

Get extended warranty!Owned it less than 3 years and it stopped cooling. Turns out one of the fans gave out and the cooling sensor because wit FROZE, in the fridge!!! Also the LED burned out, manual says no replacement needed EVER. No suggestions of how to fix/replace it. Called Kitchenaid, NO ANSWER, NO CALL BACK! Also, the trim on the shelves inside are stuck on with double sided cheap tape and all fell off. Only the tape is left behind. This is my first and last kitchenaid appliance. It only looks nice, won’t last long for the price.

Barely lasted 2 yearsWe bought this model in Nov. 2019. We've had to get the lights fixed twice within the first 15 months. When they went out the 2nd time, my husband spent half a day trying to convince customer service that the lights should last more than 6 months, regardless of whether or not we had purchased the extended warranty. Now, after just 25 months, we woke to a loud whirring noise, followed by all fridge and freezer lights flashing. About an hour later, the entire unit died completely.
While I again regret not buying the extended warranty, I am shocked that we only got 25 months out of a $3500 fridge. Three major issues in 25 months...we are so disappointed in this model and would never recommend it to anyone.

Poor QualityThis is not the Kitchenaid I had loved from before. So very disappointed in the product quality. The trim on the drawers and shelves are garbage. They are barely glued on and one came off when we were carefully removing the protective plastic. The door handles are not even and we were told nothing can be done to line them up better. The shelves are flimsy. Freezer drawers are also flimsy. Everything is cheap plastic and built to NOT last. Worst purchase I have ever made!! The amount this cost is an insult to any consumer. The only good thing is the ice dispenser.

Beware - KitchenAid Caused Damages IgnoredI bought this fridge in January, and it is great. BUT...within 8 months, one of the motors failed. When KitchenAid (owned by Whirlpool) sent a repairman to diagnose and repair, the repairman significantly damaged our floor by rolling the fridge on our floor WITHOUT using the appliance rails I tried to hand to him. And now they won't repair our one-month-old beautiful engineered hardwood floor. They refuse to accept responsibility for their damage.

Excellent FeaturesWe purchased our refrigerator and due to challenges related to Co-Vid, needed to wait 6 months for its arrival. ( we were aware at the time of purchase.) When it arrived, we were very pleased that we stayed with our original choice. The moveable shelf makes it extremely convenient to reach items at the back. The deli, cheese, and wine drawer is impressive in size as noted by friends. Nice sized crisper drawers. The slide back tray readily allows for tall items. The freezer is very functional and efficient in design. We are very pleased with our refrigerator.

completely broke in less than a yearWe just moved into a new house and within a month our kitchenmaid french door refrigerator started making a horrible chainsaw like noise and then completely shut down. The bottom shelf is completely frosted over and the fridge is now useless. We had to call kitchenaid to get a "accredited" service provider in, it took a week for them to fit us in, and now it's taken over a week and the part has not been shipped! It's been over two weeks without a fridge for a busy family of five. This is completely ridiculous! There is no reason why a new fridge should break down like this and not only that, the parts should ship more quickly so that their customers aren't stranded. This is costing our family so much money as we had to through out our fridge contents and now have to find a way to feed our family each day without a fridge. SO VERY FRUSTRATED!

Great product, just noisyI love so much about this fridge and the reason it only gets a 4 star rating is because of two issues. The water dispenser is great, but so slow that most in the family use the sink instead. We also find that the fridge is very noisy, not the ice dumping or anything. It makes a very loud hum, that can be heard over the phone. We had a tech come an "fix" it and it is more tolerable now.
The customer service regarding this noise has been great! Overall, I would definitely recommend this fridge to others, just be aware it may be louder than you expect.
