Closeout appliances have never been used or owned. They have been discontinued and are now offered at a discounted price, similar to scratch & dent, but only while supplies last. Refurbished appliances, however, have been returned after being purchased. They are cleaned, inspected and tested for defects before being included as part of the KitchenAid Certified Refurbished Program.
