Rated 4 out of 5 by from NIce but needs work on the details We bought and installed one of these stoves as part of a kitchen renovation. That was a few month ago, so we have had time to put this appliance through its paces. Overall its very good. Looks great and having two ovens makes life much easier and efficient. There are a few shortcomings though, which for a range of this price are a bit surprising. The fifth burner in the middle of the cooktop is not useful. It has very low heat output and is only really appropriate for something like an elongated fish poacher, and who has one? The presence of this burner is representative of the somewhat lazy or even sloppy design details. Really Kitchenaid, if you have two ovens should't there be two timers? I had a two oven stove in the past, and it had two really useful timers. Finally there are only two racks in the lower oven and one of them is a sliding one which is nothing but always binds and jams..very poor design. Again at this price consumers should be able to expect better. The machine is good technically, but there are things which can make you crazy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dream come true I'm a busy woman generally in charge of feeding a busy household: two working parents and two active kids. Almost all of our meals are home-made, and I spend a significant part of my evenings in or around the kitchen, or in the cook book section at the local library dreaming up the next meal. I love cooking, I'm not afraid to experiment and I especially enjoy the process of taking raw ingredients and turning them into something that puts smiles on faces and fills up bellies. And what I've learned is that I enjoy cooking best when I've got the right tools for the job. I've been waiting to get this range to replace my older electric Maytag Gemini for about 5 or 6 years, watching the prices in the stores and hoping for a good deal. I had grown up using gas stoves, and only learned to use electric in my early twenties. I loved the double-oven of my Gemini for the flexibility of warming up a smaller space to make a tray of chicken fingers for the kids, but still having the use of a larger oven for my Dutch oven or my roasts. My only regret is that I didn't buy this one sooner - what a difference a properly-calibrated oven makes (the Maytag would always maintain the lower element on because the temperature sensor wouldn't detect the heat properly in the lower oven if you had more than one rack in use - so your bottom tray burned but your top tray remained uncooked. Many a meal was ruined this way). And the difference in space is unbelievable - the top oven doesn't feel cramped at all. I can fit a full sheet in there, I can easily fit a cake tin (without worrying that the parchment paper collar is touching the element and going to set the oven on fire)... everything so far has come out fabulous. And then there's the gas hob. Blazing heat in your front elements (watch out, though, because the pots get a lot hotter than they do on an electric stove), lovely gentle heat in the back, and a long middle burner that I haven't had to use yet but can see a future for. My first meal was a Thai peanut curry in a wok that I had received for Christmas several years ago and endured the frustration of not quite being able to use it properly ever since. No more! It worked wonderfully, and I can't wait to learn to cook more with it. I love the fact that when I turn off the gas, there is no more heat under my pots and pans, so heavy cast iron skillets don't have to be dragged off to stop the food from overcooking or burning, you can put your drained potatoes back on the same element without worrying that they'll scorch between the time you put them on and the time you get your butter and milk for the mash. No more stove-top Tetris! I really like the look of it: very stylish in the stainless steel. I haven't had any problems cleaning up (even after my partner cooked a messy pasta and meatballs), because the grates lift off in two pieces and you can wipe down the oven surface with no difficulty. It looks much nicer than my old glass top, which always attracted dust and, after 10 years of careful use, was starting to show some wear and tear. For sure there's still a lot of learning to do (a challenge I'm willing to take on!). I had the setting for eggs over-easy down to a science on my old stove, but now it's a whole new ball game. I haven't mastered the convection cooking yet, either, but look forward to trying it at our next Sunday roast - a good idea to have a trial run before Christmas day! Overall, though, I love this range!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS STOVE!!!!! Aside from that fact that we were assured that we could use the cooktop during power outages (which we have frequently and one of the reasons we wanted a propane cooktop) the valves have ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS been stuck and cannot be turned off. An appliance place told us that this is because of 2 cents worth of a particular kind of grease that is put into all new stoves and is supposed to last a lifetime. After springing 3 grand for what you thought was your dream stove, is it reasonable to expect it to work? If i weren't for a useful husband who sprang $29 for a tube of special grease we would have spend $thousands on repairs!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product We've owned this product for almost three years now. There have been no issues with the range. Performs wonderfully. Only thing missing is an optional wok ring.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from lots of defective parts I purchased this piece of negative treasure and the within 2 years had to start replacing the gas valves at $300 a pop.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from would not recommend, due to knob problems. I have the range for about three years. Just after a year, the left front knob had to be replaced. It was not turning off. Then, after 10 months, the left front, back and griddle knob wont turn off (3 knobs at the same time). I have to replace them again. The four burners cannot be used at the same time, as there is not enough spaces in between the pots. The gas connection requires a bit more space and therefore, the gas range is not flushed with the counter. The range is much heavier to move and therefore makes it harder for cleaning beside and behind the stove. I would not recommend purchasing without an extended warranty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality I have the 2011 model and it has never worked properly despite servicing. The convention oven has been serviced 4 times and is still so loud it's difficult to have a conversation in the kitchen. The doors do not unlock after the self clean cycle and two of the burners don't light properly (also serviced 4 times). Kitchen Aid has been completely unhelpful. I would not recommend this range or any other Kitchen Aid products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this range in June. It works well and looks really good but I do not like the grate. It is too high above the burners. Also, the cross bars above the burners do not allow some of my pots to sit well. The front right ignition does not work properly.
