Rated 1 out of 5 by from I will not buy KitchenAid Appliances again I live remote and am ex-professional chef so I cook at least 2 meals a day at home and have bought and used KitchenAid for most of my career. I bought this stove 1 1/2 (Nov 2016) years ago and immediately starting having issues with the bake feature. When the technician came out to try and fix it the problem could not be replicated. Now 2 weeks ago the oven heated up so high that it stopped working completely. When the technician came out he told me that I would have to replace the entire mother board of the stove. No wonder the earlier issues could not be duplicated. It was the mother board slowly dying. I am now waiting 6 days to get the part and had to purchase a counter top convection oven for 170.00 just so I could cook at home. This stove cost over 4K Canadian and when I called KitchenAid about this they offered to pay for 1/2 of the board but no labour and now will not sell me the extended warranty BUT she was willing to "give me a good deal on a new stove". When I asked her what I was supposed to do with the 4K that I had spent only 16 months ago her answer was "I don't know". She was more interested in selling me a new stove than actually honouring the functionality of the existing stove. This stove is truly beautiful to look at but it is next to impossible to clean the oven with the steam feature as I have tried now 3 times. If you look at it sideways it scratches (it was scratched by putting a bowl on it). I am truly disappointed in KitchenAid as I have all of their appliances and when I bought the stove I actually bought over 10K in new appliances for my home at that time. With the pathetic customer service I was offered for this stove I am sad to say that I will be moving away from KitchenAid appliances for good (all of them small and large) in my next home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best of all worlds. Gas and electric for precise cooking. The downdraft draws the heat away from the burner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought this range because I needed a down draft due to loc. Very disappointed. Can only simmer with one burner. Had service tech three times since purchase. Twice regarding burners and last time to replace electronics cooling fan which decided to stop working in the middle of baking Christmas cookies. For the money spent for the range and being less than a year old I can not recommend this range. When I called for service at Kitchenaid I will say they were very nice and responded quickly for repair. Hopefully this was just a lemon and not the norm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, functional and efficient I bought this range the day after Thanksgiving to replacing our aging Jennair D146 Downdraft Electric range which had served us well since 1989 but now had developed performance problems. The options for venting the unit are limited and in my situation a double floor joist was directly in the path where the floor vent should go. Wall venting behind the unit was out of the question as the dining room backs up to the wall. I finally improvised a way to get the vent out though a cabinet dead space adjacent to the unit. I'm getting 321 cfm using the high speed on the fan. (The Jennair was pushing 367 cfm). All this to say...plan ahead before buying the range as a downdraft because you may end up not being able to use the downdraft functionality because the venting options are specific and limited. The provided template is very specific on where you can place the vent hole in the floor or in the wall. The issue is that the downdraft motor takes up a very large portion of the floor under the range and has to be in a specific area to attach the downdraft motor bellows to the range body. Customer Service was not very helpful to me when I called seeking advice on my venting problem. Now that the range is installed and fully operational, I love it. The range is very attractive and its commercial design with clean lines complements the other appliances in my kitchen. The burners cover a wide range from 17,000 BTU to 5,000 BTU which is enough to achieve a quick rapid boil in a large pot or to slowly simmer sauces etc. The design of the cook top makes it easy to clean up spills. The control panel is well designed and intuitive to operate. The oven is cavernous and well designed with 7 rack positions and with the optional full slide out rack. First attempt at baking produced excellent results. I have not yet attempted steam baking or used the Aqualift cleaning feature but I would expect those to work well also. I have not yet used the griddle either but will do so in the near future. When using the downdraft fan even on the low speed, the airflow distorts the flames on the burners but I compensate by shifting the pots a little off center on the grates. Speaking of grates, the design makes it easy to slide pots from one burner to the other without lifting the pot. In conclusion, I am very pleased with the appliance and look forward to many years of reliable service.
